FINAL RULES FEDERAL REGISTER – ACCREDITATION AND STATE AUTHORIZATION

ED published the final rules federal register pertaining to Accreditation and State Authorization on 11/1/19. The rules are effective 7/1/20. However, ED has allowed for early implementation, beginning 11/1/19, for several of these regulations:

1. Definitions as found in 600.2 – religious mission, state reciprocity agreement, additional location, branch campus, pre-accreditation, teach-out agreement and teach-out plan;
2. State authorization as found in 600.9;
3. Institutional information to be disclosed as found in 668.43; and
4. Severability as provided in 668.50.
