A Walkthrough for Studentaid.gov

Future updates will involve the TEACH Grant certification form, the Total Permanent Disability application, single sign-on with servicing websites, improving My Aid and multifactor authentication.

  • Parent Wizard assists applicants for student financial aid in determining the appropriate parent for the FAFSA.
  • Borrowers are able to view their loan forgiveness and discharge on their dashboard or on their My Activity page.
  • Customers without a Social Security number are now able to create an account on studentaid.gov.
  • Studentaid.gov has added an automated option for an applicant to access their account if they can’t remember their login credentials.
  • Future updates will include the TEACH Grant certification form, the Total Permanent Disability application, single sign-on with servicing websites, improving My Aid and phishing resistance multifactor authentication.
  • Aiden, FSA’s virtual assistant, has been upgraded and improved. This should allow Aiden to better understand questions being asked and reduce the effort and timeframes to create new user cases.
  • Borrowers can now review their PSLF progress and see the number of qualifying payments made toward PSLF. Applicants can also view the status of their application for PSLF.
